Embroidery on paper n.1 - Framed

Sashiko is a type of traditional Japanese embroidery made up of running stitches that are put together to form patterns. 

In this artwork, I created a grid of straight lines, where stitches meet or cross to make a delicate, geometric composition. 

Technique: Sashiko embroidery on paper 

Materials: Wool thread and watercolor paper 140 lb (300 gsm)

Size: 11" x 14"
